About The Event:rnrnWe welcome runners of all abilities and you are allowed to run or walk the course.rnrnThe Time Turner events allow you to collect lucky dip medals from previous eventsrnrnDistance & Time: This is a 7hr Time Challenge event which allows you full control over the distance you want to run. The minimum distance is 5km, which is part of a lap. A full lap is 4.37 miles (7km) and you can run as many or as few of these laps as you wish in the 7hr time limit which starts from the official event start time. It is 3 laps for a half marathon, 6 for a marathon and 7 or over for an ultra, we also have a 50km distance available.rnrnCourse: The course is around the beautiful river Wear with views of Durham Cathedral. It is fully signed so no navigational experience is required. The course is mainly well made paths and tarmac. Road shoes are suitable all year round.rnrnThe regular course is subject to some change near the time of the event depending on our health and safety review of the course and council / land owner final approval.rnrnMedals: As long as you complete one lap, you will be an official finish and you will receive our fantastic medal.rnrnGoody Bag: Absolutely! You earned the calories after all, so all our finishers get a goody bag. As well as our standard goody bag, with a selection of various goodies to choose from, we also have a fabulous vegan goody bag for our vegan runners.rnrnDistance Pins: We have distance pins available for anyone who runs a half-marathon distance or more. Pins available to collect are our Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50km and Ultra pins. You will receive one pin on the ribbon of your medal to reflect your achievement.rnrnAid Table: We have a fantastic aid table and drinks table at the start / finish of each lap. There is a great selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items at the aid table.rnrnSpecial Event: If our event is a special event for you, for instance your 50th, 99th, 100th, 200th, 250th etc., half or full marathon then please let us know. You will receive a special running number with your name on it and the date of the event. Also, if it is your birthday run then again please let us know as we have a fabulous special birthday number for you too.rnrnToilets & Changing Facilities: There are toilets available in Rowing Club which is approximately 100m from the race HQ, however this venue does not have any changing facilities.rnrnFinal Instructions / Number pick up: Final race day instructions will be sent out via email 4-5 days prior to the event with full race day information. Number pick up is on the day at race registration before the start of the event.rnrnParking: Detailed parking instructions will be sent out in the final event information. There is plenty of nearby paid and free parking which will all be detailed on a map.rnrnOther Info: There will be somewhere to leave a bag at the start / finish area. However, this is not a secure bag and the items cannot be watched at all times so please don??t leave anything valuable.rnrnHeadphones are allowed.rnrnOur running events are help on public footpaths so we would be grateful if all runners were considerate of other path users.
