Warrington Way 40 Mile Trail Ultramarathon

The Warrington Way is a 40 mile ultramarathon race, following public footpaths, country lanes and roads in an anticlockwise loop circumnavigating the town of Warrington, starting and finishing in Lymm. It is open to solo runners (undertaking the full 40 miles themselves);pairs (undertaking 20 miles each); and to relay teams of 4 runners (each undertaking one 10 mile stage). Entrants are provided with a full OS map and written directions, and a GPS route file. They self-navigate around the route, visiting each checkpoint in turn. The route is not signposted like a road race, though reusable race marker tags are placed at junctions/turns, and removed afterwards. The race is run under licence and rules of the Trail Running Association, affiliated to UK Athletics, which also provides public liability insurance.rn rnThere are manned checkpoints at 10 miles (Houghton Green), 20 miles (Bold), 30 miles (Hatton) and the start/finish (Lymm). Drinks and food are available to entrants at each checkpoint and at the finish.rn rnThe event is on Saturday 12th November 2022 starting at 7.30am There is a maximum completion time of 12 hours. There will be a maximum of 300 entries. The event is supported by RTC Medical Solutions.
